I am hoping to get some feedback on how the children’s pdf books look on other electronic devices. Some viewers say there are formatting issues, others say they work fine. Not having a kindle or i-pad myself, I’d love to hear from those who do. Should we convert books to e-pub, i-books and other formats, or, are they useable as a pdf?

Children’s books are useable in PDF format in Ipad!
PDF is great I did save it to my iBooks on iPad but I could have easily read them without even moving them from location. great books I appreciate it!!!
I’ve just got an an android tablet, and I can also confirm all the pdf books on the site work wonderfully in the pdf reader, both picture books and chapter books, and I must say, it is so much easier now to read the chapter books, I’m working my way through a few more for upload approval soon.
I recently got a Kindle Fire for my son (Rhyan Daniel-who has Down Syndrome). I have found books I’d like to download onto his Kindle Fire, but I am unsure how to do so! Any advice/
suggestions will be/would be greatly appreciated!
THANK-YOU!!
Hi Caron,
I am not completely sure, but I believe Kindle devices only read epub formats. All our books are in pdf. You can convert the pdfs to epub, then you can read them. The pdf to epub conversions often change things because of the epub format. But try searching for epub-pdf conversion, one free softeware I know of that does this is Calibre. Most books should then be readable.
We are looking at offering our books later as e-pubs, but, sorry I have to add my two cents, I do think it is fair to the public and consumers of Amazon to exclude the most open, most common, and most convertable, non proprietary format from their device.
I was so glad to hear Apple hasn’t done the same.

Forgive me for my somewhat critical remarks above.
Kindle is designed for reading alone, so reformats books to fit the page, and this, I guess is why it’s sometimes difficult to read pdfs on them. However the pdfs can be read:
Here is an article on how. IF the pdf is created as a pdf I presume it will be best, and this is they way all our books are, books that are scanned to a pdf would be more difficult.
