Known as Thavalai to some of his friends he heard story’s about other places of which he never saw before and he wanted to see the blue sea, but Philautus along with his entire family where all tree dwellers and had not come down from the tree for a very long time.

मलए पेड़ पर रहनेवालेफ़लॉटस म ढक स
फ़लॉटस जसेकुछ दोत पात बग के नाम सेभी जानतेह,
उसका परवार पछलेसैकड़$ साल$ सेबड़ेपेड़ सेनीचेही नह उतरा।
फ़लॉटस जसे(यार सेउसके दोत *मढकूकहतेथ, पैदा होनेके बाद से,
ज़दगी मकभी भी बड़ेपेड़ सेनीचेनह उतरा था। उसके पता, माँ, दादा-दाद
और यहाँतक क परदादा-परदाद भी कभी बड़ेपेड़ सेनीचेनह उतरेथे।
और उनसेपहले? उनसेपहलेक बात तो कोई नह& जानता।
मढकूके प रवार को तो बस यही याद हैक वेलोग सदा सेउसी
बड़ेपेड़ पर रहतेआए ह। वह उसी पेड़ केछेद मइकट्ठा ए पानी
मपैदा आ था, और जब वो बत छोटा था तो उसी
पानी मछप-छप करता घूमता था। उससेपहले
उसके पता भी ऐसेही पानी मछपछपातेथे।
कभी-कभी सरेमढक उसका इस बात पर मज़ाक उड़ातेथे
क वो तो कभी बगची (टैडपोल, मढक का नही मछली जैसा
Gदखनेवाला बIचा) बना ही नह& था। “तुम बगची नह& बने,
तुम तो बगची बनेही नह,” वेनारेलगाते। लेकन मढकूपेड़
पर रहनेवाला मढक था और उसेइस बात का गवLथा।
बड़ा पेड़ शोला के घनेअँधेरेऔर नमी भरेजंगल
के बीच$-बीच था, वहाँहमेशा ओस टपकती
और फफँूद क गंध भरी रहती थी।
