Plan Your Meals
One of the best ways to reduce your food waste is to plan your meals in advance. In this way, you’ll only buy the ingredients you need, and therefore you won’t buy things ‘just in case’. These just-in-case items are, more often than not, thrown out with the trash when you don’t actually use them. Your freezer can be the ideal way to make your food waste almost nothing. If you have leftover food or ingredients, you can store them in your freezer and use them at any time in the future. Plus, it will save you money because you’ll already have a lot of ingredients or even full meals ready to defrost, heat up, and eat.
You might even want to try batch cooking. If you have more time at the weekend, for example, you can batch cook food and freeze what you’re not going to eat for a later date.
