SDG Books for 2020 – Applications open

Content Project 1 of 2020 – 10 picture books to support sustainable development goals (SDGs)

One of our aims with the  FKB Make a Difference Books for a Cause project, is to provide quality children’s and young person’s books in the creative commons area which support important global issues. Our focus is on areas that relate to child welfare, eradication of poverty and hunger, equality and human rights, conservation, or essentially any important issues that apply to all of us as a united race or to the planet we live on.

We found that the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)* are the perfect mechanism that summarises the ideals behind this project. The SDGs are also aims that everyone is aware of, that is there is a lot of exposure for these goals. So since they are a perfect fit for the aims behind FKB Make a Difference, Books for a Cause, we have decided to apply those that fit together into a theme for each of the first 10 books created by the FKB Make a Difference project, as follows:.

Book 1 – Ending Poverty and Hunger (SDG 1 and 2)

Book 2 – Gender Equality (SDG#5)

Book 3 – Health and well being (SDG#3)

Book 4 – Sustainable development, affordable clean energy (SDG 7 and 11)

Book 5 – Climate Action (SDG 13)

Book 6 – Endangered Species and Co-existing (SDG 14 and 15)
