Secondary Mathematics 1 – is separated into 8 modules, Sequences, Linear and Exponential Functions, Features of Functions, Equations and Inequalities, Systems of Equations and Inequalities, Transformations and Symmetry, Congruence, Construction and proof, Connecting Algebra and Geometry, and Modeling Data Mathematics.
The book contains worked examples for learning and lots of practice exercises. The teachers guide contains the standards and concepts references and suggestions for group discussion and student interaction.
This is the first book in a series of three for Utah secondary school maths subjects, suitable for high school students in grade 9+.
The vision of UEN high school maths project is to provide a balanced and coherent curriculum and tasks to engage students and retain interest. The project uses an integrated maths model, which aims to engage students with the opportunity to learn and use topics in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and analysis in connected and relevant ways; it promotes a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.

The Mathematics Vision Project (MVP) curriculum has been developed with the vision and goals of the New Core Standards of Mathematics. The Comprehensive Mathematics Instruction (CMI) framework is an integral part of the materials. You can read more about the CMI framework in the Utah Mathematics Teacher Journal. (UCTM, 2009)
